Confusion

This was a piece from a group I was writing with...

Today's date is 10/28/15, but I'm leaving this at it's original date.  I've decided to no longer write with them.  I need to venture out on my own now.

Blogophilia week 49.7 topic: "Dazed and Confused"
Bonus Points:
(Hard, 2 pts)  Incorporate an a quote from Aristotle
(Easy, 1 pt)  Include a college sporting event

While I was looking up Aristotle quotes, I stumbled upon a blunder....How do I know this?  Because I like to do my research before going any further.  I don't need someone to point out to me how stupid I am or how I am wrong.  I can be stupid all by my lonesome, thank you very much!  ^_^

This is from the Bitmoji app

So here it was, I had been searching for Aristotle quotes, when I stumbled upon this:
Found here: http://pixshark.com/aristotle-quotes.htm

I was thinking...This is so very perfect, because I know people who can't take criticism.  And I was going to go on and on about how I welcome constructive criticism.  I think as a writer, it helps me to become a better person writing wise.  This is why I like writing prose, poetry and creating art...There really isn't a wrong way to create that.  But writing essays or novels are completely different.

Even thinking outside the box is shamed upon.

Er!  Right!!!  I got off topic....So the picture quote I found...I did some research on it and got a little dazed...and confused.  This turned out to not have been a quote from Aristotle, but a quote from an American writer by the name of Elbert Hubbard....

So then, I created this pic and quote:
http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/authors/e/elbert_hubbard.html

OK, so it isn't Aristotle, but I really like this quote.  I was so disappointed, like getting tickets to a hockey game, only to find out when you arrive it's been cancelled and they're going to play college football instead.

Alright!!!  Alright!!!  I went and found a great Aristotle quote...And yes...I did fact check, and it is indeed one of his quotes.  Several sites backed it up.  But I'll only citate one site.  I x'd out of all my tabs and am too lazy to go back to look.

Source quote from: http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/authors/a/aristotle.html

Anyway...I wonder what he could have meant by:  Hope is a waking dream.  According to Yahoo Answers, there are two different contradictions as to the meaning.  But whatever he meant by it, I hope he meant good things.

For me, I hope he meant that you can have hopes not only in dreams, but while awake as well.

I have dreams...I dream big time.  I wish to one day be able to buy the house my grandma sold on Long Island.  As a child, I moved around a lot, and my grandma's house was the only thing that was constant.  I loved the little town she lived in.  I loved walking around that town, and I loved going to the library there.  I swear I could hide out there for hours.  And even though my grandma sold it nine years ago, I still have an inkling of hope that one day I can go back.

Who knows?  Maybe the previous owners will be hoarders and if I'm lucky, I might find my teddy bear collection after all.  *sigh*  It sure is a pipe dream, but it's my pipe dream.  In reality, I know my grandma's obnoxious boyfriend at the time, flooded the basement, causing everything to ruin.

Alright, so I didn't have any Paddington bears, but I just had some that stuck by me during my childhood.  Though I do have a few Pooh Bears only because they were my son's but now that he's 18 he's "outgrown" them.  I still have my Care Bear from childhood.  I have no idea how I still have that one but not the rest.

Well, dreaming is fun, but I have to go...

Oh, and here's the original pic I created...

Getting Caught Up

Hey Everyone!!!!

So today, I decided to do the blogging challenges again.  I figure I better keep up with my quota for continuing at least once a week in the blogging department.  So far, I seem to do well as far as blogging.  If you trace back to my blogs, you will see that I'm getting better at posting more and more.  And who says I never finish what I start.

Well, today one of my blog challenges was to mention a Japanese proverb.  I found one on this website, and then I played around in Photoshop.  Ultimately, I wound up creating this:

And it took me a while to make, but as you can see, I made sure to citate where I got the quote from.  I usually do the same with pictures I find.  The only time I don't is when I find it on Pinterest and there is no one to give the credit to.  Like there was this artwork of Brandon and Bruce Lee, but no one gave any credit as to who the artist was that created such a wonderful drawing.  I find it shameful when artists go unnoticed.

Anyway...Kishi Kaisei...I like it.  This was a proverb that just spoke to me in so many ways.

In the beginning of December, I was accused of something that I may or may not have said about someone.  The point is when I speak about someone, I never mention gender or names.  Yet this person chose to fight with me because they were miserable.

Whenever I have dealt with bullies in the past, I would just confront them head on.  If that didn't work, I would just walk away from it.  I would apologize even if I wasn't wrong in the situation.

I even apologized to this person, but still that wasn't good enough for them.  I was accused of declining my statement to "save face".  But the statement is still there.  I haven't revoked it...I just didn't think my profile was being stalked a whole week before.

So, December was bad.  I dealt with bullies; my father in law died on Christmas day.  Not to mention December is all around a stressful month as is.  So many holidays and gifts...And the pressure is on.  And when you deal with bullies and death....The combination isn't great.  And it was worse because on Christmas Eve day, I woke up with a really bad sinus cold.

So January is literally a new beginning for me.  I feel like it's taken some time...And today I've died...And just like the proverb, I came back to life.

I don't know why or how these things happen.  They just do.  That's my life in a nutshell.

So I should be around more to blog.  Hopefully, I'll be posting more poetry.  I'm still working on other projects that I hope (Fingers crossed) to be done soon....

(Random) (Blog) (Picture) (Definition) (Language) (Japanese)
This was a random post from way back when...Back in January..

It's a blog...With pictures...

Can anyone tell me what the words in the picture mean?  I would like to look it up.
I was really hesitant on writing another blog...That's why I'm writing on this profile and not my other blog or in my notes....Which never allow me to post videos...So what's the fun in that?

I really wish Blogophilia would move to Blogger....Or WordPress.  It would be so much easier for me considering certain people I'm close to don't like to read what I write.  They only like to criticize the posts I make on FB a week later.  Which means they're stalking me.  I don't even know anymore.

I just feel like every time I smile, someone has to smack that smile off my face, and I don't get why.

So, you can imagine that when I stumbled upon the following Japanese proverb, I felt I could relate completely.

Every time, a little bit of me dies, and somehow, I'm still alive.  And every time I die, a new part of me comes back to life.

Kishi Kaisei--Wake from death and return to life.

The only difference with this saying is this usually doesn't happen to me in one sudden burst.  It just happens out of nowhere...I am brought back.

Which some days, it's a shame because I enjoy my fake fantasy world, collecting moonbeams in a jar.
(I thought that little teddy bear was cute)  :)

Have you ever heard Here Comes The Sun played on the mandolin?

I think this blog topic played well with what's on my mind this week, though the Beatles were the last thing on my mind.  The music in my heart weighs heavy this week.

But if you do need a laugh, might I recommend the following clip from the episode Weekend at Bobby's from the show Supernatural.

When the word Shinto popped up, I immediately thought of this episode.  They had an Okami demon, and needed to kill her with a weapon that was blessed by a Shinto priest seven times....Of course, I couldn't find the exact part of the episode I wanted, but all in all, this was still a good episode.

Sunflowers

Originally written on Tuesday, 1/11/11 by ©Diana Jillian (That's Me!)    :)

Epiphanies can be time consuming
But they can also be great
You come across a thought
And it's become a lifted weight

But have to train your brain
On what to expect
I’ve tried for months
To get some good respect

I needed to live for me
To say, “Let it all go!"
And just live for me
But the process was slow

But I couldn’t do it at first
And I didn’t know why
Nor did I know how
How do you wave goodbye?

Then the switch flipped
The bell went ding!
FINALLY in my head
Was a song I could sing

I watched the game
I played the game
I wrote a bit
I know it sounds lame

But then I called someone dear to me
I sat alone for my thoughts to center
I dug deep into the corners of my mind
Places where I never dare enter

I gathered them like fall leaves
Raked them up in a pile
For me to play and jump in
And lay around for awhile

Now bathing in the sea of happy
I'm living in the world of manifest
But to honestly tell you the truth
Focusing on me is the hardest test

But once I focus, I feel warm inside
The numbness has finally left my side

Only thoughts that make me smile
It surely has been a long while

And all of the negative
Are being pulled out like weeds
As I Look around
For other sunflowers like me

But as you may know
All flowers of any kind
ARE WELCOME!
