Finding Me

The urge for me to cry is close and near
Only to be covered by a blanket of dead
And silent laughter is your only friend
Or fiend as voices ring inside my head
Do you ever get to see the real me?
All the masks in place for you to see
Can you find it?
Find the light
In darkest night
Hide dispersion
Create diversion
The urge for me to cry is dead and gone
Numbness arrived and sent it searing
Silence and laughter fail to disentangle
Do you believe in the words you’re hearing?
And I’ll crawl down to my world
Protection from the outer pain
And I’ll hide until light ascends
Until I no longer feel the shame
Can you find it?
Can you find the real me?
