DISCOURAGE
Written by ©Diana Jillian 4/10/12
I cannot be what you want
I sit and think this over
Truth or consequence
Truth is told
I can't be what you want me to be
Though I've tried
I must be different
And keep on path
No matter where it leads
Even in the land of cardboard
I have to keep trying
To keep pushing
Discouragement along the way
But it's okay
I will ignore it
Set it aside
Break the laws within my mind
Life will pan out
As expected
Shush up the voices
And keep living the lie
Till it's true
Lie it true
Believe in it
Pounce
Devour
Create
Control
That is me
In charge

Hi Diana,
I really like the quote, very true!
Your poem is wonderful and wise! And again so true.
We can only fool ourselves into being something we're not for so long...in the end we are who we are. Being true to that isn't always easy but in the end we're going to be happier for being what we need in life not what others think we need.
Our dreams may start as dreams or lies even, but if we stick to our convictions in our paths that eventually with paitence and time we will arrive where we know we were always meant to be.:-)
Thank for sharing this wonderful, thoughtful poem!
